ABOUT THE PUB

The Chequers Inn is at the heart of the community in Lamberhurst and we warmly welcome everyone through our doors to enjoy the ambience of one of the oldest pubs in Kent, established in 1414.

Sitting in the centre of Lamberhurst, with gardens overlooking the River Teise, and surrounded by the glorious Weald countryside we are a mere stone’s throw from Scotney Castle.

There is a natural children’s play area, fun tunnel and mud kitchen, and chilled courtyard area, our gardens have something for everyone.

We host events throughout the year including regular live music, annual Halloween festival, global grazing evenings, fun quiz nights, scrabble club, gardening club, blues jam nights and much more.

We can also offer private hire for any special occasion. Recently re-opened, our aim is to make this a traditional, family friendly village pub, serving homemade fresh food including locals choices and a wide selection of popular beers and wines.
